Erin Soper

Hello! I’m Erin. I’ve worked here since 2015, and “so what does Firespring do?” is easily the question I answer most about my job—not “what do you do there?” or “oh, do you know so-and-so?”

The second question I answer most is “do you really have a slide?” Yes, we really have a slide. But I’d argue the slide is literally the LEAST interesting part of Firespring.

Let me take you on a photo tour of Firespring’s headquarters. (We sadly won’t be exploring our offices in Omaha or Council Bluffs today, but they are equally awesome and I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.)

I’ll be honest: I had to interview a few people for this blog post to get to the nitty gritty of what we do. Even after working here for over two years, there was so much that I had yet to explore. Even this blog post won’t cover a lot of the things we can do. If you’re as excited about Firespring as I am once you’re done reading, give us a call and let’s talk more about how we can help you.

Ahoy!

Welcome! This is the lobby. We have TVs that are connected by magic—or wiring, or whatever. Did you know this building used to be a warehouse and Firespring had to build the second floor? True story. So far, there is no pulley system between the two floors, but I’ll keep lobbying for it.

Get it?

First stop is the print production floor. How much time do you have? Because we could be here awhile. Watch out, because these people are some seriously heavy hitters and can do just about anything you ask. And we’ve been asked for a lot—in no particular order, signage, bindery, offset, printing, folding, mailing, shipping, fulfillment, diecuts, vehicle graphics, digital printing, swaaaaaag, business packages, trade shows, wedding packages, cardboard cutouts, yard signs, is that it? Nope, definitely not. Don’t have enough time.

Hellooooo over there.

This is the Komori. It’s the size of an entire room. Do you even see me at the end there? It can print a shit ton of pieces. That’s a real amount, by the way.

How do I get out?!

And here’s even more of the shop. There’s so much to see! So much going on! Don’t get in anyone’s way or else you’re toast! That’s why I just smile, nod and act like I know where I’m going, even when I’m lost. Eventually, I’ll find my way out and be thankful this isn’t a larger building. Then I’ll pour a cold one, wait till the palpitations subside and move along.

Don’t worry, it’s beer o’clock.

After jaunting through the print shop, we’ll take it upstairs. Welcome to the design area, complete with art directors and usually an account manager or writer. Here, you’ll find the never-ending supply of fun-size candies, thanks to Nicole. She always has our backs.

She never skimps on brand, either.

What we call the Creative team is really a group of people that design, write, create, produce and supply our clients with never-ending marketing solutions. Mostly powered by Nicole’s candy.

ONWARD!

Close your eyes. Picture a warm, cozy hammock, a cool breeze gently tickles your face as you drift in and out of peaceful sleep. You’re enveloped in the softest, fuzziest blanket that your new four-month-old puppy hasn’t yet destroyed.

So cute. So destructive.

That is what it feels like when our SaaS (I’ll save you the Google search—that’s “software as a service”) team is working on your website. They’ll do whatever it takes to get you the product you deserve. We have literally thousands of clients on our platform, better known as the Springboard, who’ll back us up on that.

Hanging with the cool kids.

You may be confused at this point. You might be thinking to yourself, “What doesn’t Firespring do?” I haven’t found the answer to that question yet. See below for some Qs and As that may clear things up:

Does Firespring do design work?
You bet!

Animation? Video?
Yep yep!

But what about radio?
Sure thing!

Media recommendations and placements?
Of course!

Custom web solutions?
Duh.

PR? Social media?
Uh huh.

Content?
Yes ma’am.

Can Firespring rename AND rebrand my company using complex digital and traditional means to convey the change to my customers, while utilizing research and providing me with reports and data showing me results?
You bet your butt we can.

See?

That’s all, folks. It’s been swell. I’d be remiss to neglect the slide and Firepit, so here it is. I’ll see you at the next 11:11.

How I feel after sticking the landing in fast pants.
